Dan Teasdale, Lead Designer on Harmonix’s Rock Band 3, has left the company to work on a new project at Twisted Pixel.
According to Teasdale’s blog, the designer is looking forward to working on his latest project, which he refers to as ‘ridiculously cool’. He claims that the position at Texas-based Twisted Pixel will enable him to be more ‘hands on’. “It's the holy grail of game design positions,” he said.
Although Teasdale views his work at Harmonix as a huge success, he does admit that the size of projects such as Rock Band made it harder to apply a personal touch: “...as I became a senior and then a lead on AAA titles with 200+ people on them, the ability to chart the vision and the direction of a title starts to encroach how much time you can spend tweaking the details personally.”
Twisted Pixel’s previous work includes both The Maw and ‘Splosion Man.
