It looks like PlayStation Plus is finally paying off in ways other than access to betas, demos and Minis. Last week PlayStation Plus members were offered Stacking for free. Now there's an announcement that a slew of new Sega games coming to PSN will be fre to PlayStation Plus users if they get them in time. To make the deal better, PlayStation Plus members get the games before anyone else.
The classic Sega games start on March 1 with Sonic The Hedgehog. It will continue with one game a month until August. The games include, in roder: Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2, Comix Zone and Altered Beast. Each game will be available to PlayStation Plus members two weeks before they are available to everyone else, with a four week window to get the games for free. Once you get them, they're free until you stop paying for PlayStation Plus.
Everyone else who wants to play the classic Sega games will have to spend $4.99 . That's $30 for all six games, or just below the price of six months of PlayStation Plus. It's still more cost effective to just get a Sega collection for PS3, but at least there will be the option to download each of the games separately in case all you really care about is Sonic and Comix Zone.
